Taste Kitchen Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

We came for Valentine's Day, and weren't that impressed. I was told there was a time limit to sitting at a table, but that there wasn't at the bar. So we picked seats at the bar so would could enjoy the night and have a few drinks after dinner. They never mentioned that it was a set menu. Overall the food was interesting, but expensive. (Never had bone marrow before, and it was odd, but good). I've definitely had better food at the same or better prices throughout AA. Will have to go back again sometime and try their real menu. The server (bartender) wasn't very good, but the sommelier/host/manager was extremely knowledgable and nice (otherwise I would have given it 2 stars).

Have you ever been on a vaycay that hit a home run? Like, you knew this would be your new favorite spot and were already planning your return trip before you even left? That's how I feel about Taste Kitchen. I'm already trying to book lunches, dinners and desserts with friends, family and Yelpers (any takers?). Taste Kitchen is a little bit of OutKast ('so fresh and so clean') with a chic interior design and top notch crew, right in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. They set themselves apart from the other campus grubhubs by providing an elegant sit-down experience, specializing in attention to detail. My first time there was all that and more. I decided to try the chicken pho, stirring away from the tradition of beef (which you can only find on the lunch menu). Fresh basil, tons of bean sprouts, a nice harmony of hoisin and sriracha sauce were ready to fill the bowl of simmering pho goodness. The only addition I would've made was some fresh cut jalapeño peppers (because like many, I also appreciate the spice of life!). The waitress I had was great and super knowledgeable about the restaurant and food served. We got on the subject of tea and it turns out, Taste Kitchen runs a rotating list of specialty teas that change every so often. I got to try one which was high quality and went perfect with the pho. This isn't an every-day type of place you can eat at (unless your funds for food are infinite) but it's a fantastic addition to Ann Arbor's food scene and one I look forward to visiting again.

Came here for local food and global plates as their sign suggests. What we got was...rude service, terrible drinks, and the most unappetizing flavor combinations I've ever come across.... From start to finish our experience was unlike anything else in Ann Arbor. We were seated at a table that looked clean but upon being seated we realized the table cloth had crumbs all over it and the placemats have food droppings from the last customers. Our waiter acknowledged this and said 'Sorry' but never changed them out for us. As far as the food..Does chorizo grease and basalmic say enough???? We literally ran as fast as we could from this restaurant as to save our amazing trip to Ann Arbor from being tainted by the awful food and service at Taste. Do yourself a favor..this guy doesn't know what he's doing.

We walked in without a reservation on a Friday night and were seated within 5 minutes. The service is awesome, with delicious food and wonderful ambiance. - Grilled Amish Chicken Tagine: Flavorful with nice texture, and perfectly cooked chicken. - Pan Seared Scallops: Scallops were perfectly cooked with delicious risotto and curry sauce. I would definitely return again to try out their dessert.

The food was good- not spectacular but good. Service was really good. We got the fish tacos- quite tasty although the fish was almost too big for each taco. Salmon sashimi was also pretty good. And the seafood curry was also decent. The waitress was a bit of a character and gave us good advice on a wine pairing with our food. All in all, it was good. I would go back

I liked this place a lot. Definitely pricey, probably would fit in better over on Main Street, but it was good. Pricey is warranted because all their seafood is caught the day before and overnighted to the restaurant. Let me start off by saying that the waiters are extremely knowledgable. They know every detail down to the exact aromas of each dish on the menu. For starters, we ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Risotto. The risotto was so flavorful and well cooked so that it was neither mushy nor hard. The crab was stringy and soft. It definitely tasted like real crab and not the imitation crab stuff you get at other places. I ordered the Seafood Bouillabaisse for my entree. I can't recall all the seafood in it, but there was salmon, scallop, and shrimp for sure. Given my love for seafood, I had hoped for more seafood in the soup and less onions (because I don't like onions), but again, since the seafood is freshly caught, I am understanding of quality over quantity. I took the rest of the soup home and reheated it the next day with more seafood - it was still good. My boyfriend, with whom I went for dinner, ordered the Pan Seared Scallops. I like seafood, but I usually don't like scallops. However, I did enjoy some of this scallop. Like the crab in my appetizer, it was tender and soft and full of flavor. For dinner, we ordered the Matcha Crème Brûlée and the Coconut Panna Cotta. Basically, the two things I like most - crème brûlée and coconut. They weren't overwhelmingly sweet like a lot of desserts are and they were both just creamy enough to melt in your mouth. I will definitely come back after I sell my college student soul to afford this nice dinner.

We had four small plates, two entrees and dessert and ALL were delicious with creative ingredients and presentation. Knowledgable waitstaff, clean atmosphere and can't wait to try lunch here!!

Good presentations of food. Bland taste. My chicken pho tastes like they used the canned chicken broth, and I could nor believe that they don't offer cilantro and onions as garnish. My friend ordered the grilled pork plate which tasted okay but not great, small portion. It is kind of pricy since their food is very mediocre and nothing too special about it. One thing I would like to point out is that their drinking water tastes weird. They might need to check on their taps. I do not think I will go back.

I was very excited to try this place given the photos of the beautiful dinner dishes. But to my disappointment, I'll just be nice and say that Taste kitchen offers what is a mediocre-at-best lunch menu. My biggest beef is with the pork belly ramen. For the few who don't know, pork belly is mainly fat, and fat is what makes cuts of meat tender; lean meat is what makes cuts tough. By some miracle (freezerburning or overcooking), chefs at the Taste Kitchen made the pork belly in my ramen tastes like beef jerky. Also the pork belly was cut along the grain, not against the grain, which made it especially stringy. Keep in mind that was the pork belly, I won't mention what the pulled pork texture was like. (Think chewing on your favorite nylon duffle bag.) From that to the dreary duck sliders, I do not think I will return again. At least not for lunch.

After a very long day made longer with an evening meeting in Ann Arbor, I was looking forward to a noodle bowl. Headed towards Slurping Turtle, Taste Kitchen beckoned. Later on in the evening, guests were finishing up and the restaurant was emptying out. Taste Kitchen is a casual dining restaurant with a simple aesthetic. A large bar sits in the center, towards the back and TVs line the wall. The restaurant was populated by simple, dark wood tables and chairs, all of them decorated by wildflowers in mason jars, wrapped in burlap. I was looking for something quick so the server suggested the Pho, a very large rice noodle dish with chunks or Amish chicken in a light broth. The piping hot dish came with a perfectly poached egg - still in its shell, still runny - that added richness to the dish. Also served on the side were: bean sprouts, herbs, lime, and two different but complementary sauces (Sriracha and Hoisin), all to flavor the meal. Service was fantastic and a reason for the high rating. The chef stopped by to check on the table and the server (who I believe might also be the co-owner) was attentive throughout the meal.

Please don't come here. You wouldn't like the undercurrent vibe. Especially Shane's inventively fabulous cocktails - they would not suit you. Please don't come here.

The food was delicious. Such fresh and good quality food. Everything tastes fresh and I couldn't get enough of the Vietnamese flavors. Overall great ambiance and great food. Also, the waitress was very sweet and energetic. The Chef was sweet and friendly to us which made us just want to keep coming back to try more and show support.

I must say, I am quite appalled by the rave reviews. We got the amish chicken pho and the seafood bouillabaise and the food was good, but by golly, for those price tags, it better be good! I can't honestly say that the food was good enough to warrant the price, and will be very hesitant to return. Though service was remarkable. Ambience was nice and fitting for a romantic dinner.

Fresh, frequently updated menu; outstanding service (attentive/informative/friendly); strong bar service (house-made infusions/bitters, cocktail/wine list). Enjoyed small plates: Gazpacho w/ crab, wild mushroom risotto w/ truffle oil, parm. Dined this fine evening al fresco. Extremely limited indoor seating during inclement weather.

Amazing! Went here with my family and we had a blast. The sommeliers were very experienced and knew exactly what to pair with everything we ordered. We had the spring rolls and caprese for starters; all delicious! I had the risotto and scallops, the risotto was cooked perfectly and the flavor was spot on. The scallops were perfect with the curry sauce. Great service and great food. For dessert we had the creme brûlée and a coconut dish (forgetting its name currently). Both were excellent. Highly recommended.

Delicious, fresh food! Went for dinner as a belated Valentine's Day. The menu changes weekly based on the fresh food available. If you are looking for a quick place to eat, this is not the place for you. Service was friendly and our waitress did not rush us or interrupt conversation constantly. I had the chicken schnitzel and the sauce was AMAZING! My significant other had the ribeye. It was not over cooked and had a wonderful flavor. We split the pear salad which was fresh and light- not too much dressing either. We split the peanut butter lava cake for dessert. The chocolate lava cake was not exceptional but the peanut butter sauce made up for the cake. Be sure to make a reservations! A couple was at the bar a and a ways in their drinks when we arrived and got seated just as we were leaving.

Went for dinner and ordered the crab risotto and seafood ramen. Crab risotto was delicious and extremely rich in flavor (definitely recommend it!), but the ramen was very mediocre. there was very little seafood in the dish and the broth was nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, presentation of the dishes was excellent, they have great appetizers, but entrees are average. One thing that upset me was that the waiter overcharged me for the bill. I left an average tip for average service, only to find that he doubled the bill and decided to treat himself with a very generous tip. I had to call the restaurant multiple times to get my money back, which was an extremely frustrating process.

Excellent service! The food was good but a little too expensive for what it is, I guess we pay for well trained servers. The ambience was very nice for a romantic dinner. The risotto primavera was excellent, the ribeye I heard from our company's comment that it was really good. The server accommodated my little 8 years old and brought food for her that wasn't in the menu, she loved it all. For the price I will definitely try a different place next time not because it was not good but I may find something new and better.

Another place in Ann Arbor with a unique menu, great service and great food. There's not one thing on this menu that I do not love. Every single time I come here I literally have the server decide for me because I can't decide due to wanting at least 7 of the dishes on the menu. Yes, it is a little pricey, but if you want a nice dinner with great service, just go. It is well worth it.

  • Suki K.

I would give 3.5 star if I can. The food was fine. However, when comparing with other restaurants in the same price range, I wasn't impressed with my dining experience at this restaurant - crowded with too many tables. I would rather go Logan or Pacific Rim for a wider selection of dishes and better atmosphere.

Warning: portions are small for some dishes. A friend got the Vietnamese grilled pork plate that looked quite disappointing size-wise. Appetizers are pricey. This place is for those who like presentation and food. However, this rating is strictly based off of the two dishes I tried. The chicken: oh my, what a pleasant surprise. My boyfriend calls me a pho snob, so I might have some knowledge on this soup. First, the pho came out in a clay pot which was interesting and creative. The actual dish was very delightful. It has a lot of the traditional taste to it, but still had a slight twist that made it refreshing compared to authentic pho. Sorry tomukun, your take on pho is rubbish. I'd go to taste if I craved pho in ann arbor. It's also light, so great for next day hangovers, haha. The chicken shnitzel sandwich was great. The breading is so amazingly crispy. Combination of flavors were comforting. This is a heavy dish, so stay away if you want something light. Atmosphere during lunch time was relaxed and we saw a few families there. Waitress was attentive and friendly! Little spacing, but nice nonetheless.

Visited Taste Kitchen with two more people, and we were overall very impressed by the food. We ordered small plates, which were surprisingly pretty large and substantial. The mussels were so delicious that I have them at the top of my list, then the foie gras was a really generous and well cooked piece over a kind of bread that went very well with the foie gras flavor. The other two dishes were a very tasty risotto with crab and a more forgettable shrimp dumplings. We were suggested a white wine that paired very well with our food choices. Here the server called the sommelier, which was a nice touch. Overall the service was fine but could have been less rushed and more careful (e.g. adding some extra spoons for sharing the tapa style dishes). Really recommend this place for its well accomplished fusion with local products.

I was very happy with Taste. Made reservations through the Yelp App (OpenTable) and they worked. Not sure if they were necessary as it was spring break in Ann Arbor so the town was a little dead at the time, but we arrived on time and were sat as such. Started with the Taste Manhattan (one of their specialty cocktails) and it was pretty tasty. Entree was the pan-seared scallops which were very good came with a curry sauce and greens. The risotto that accompanied the dish though was rich, creamy and delicious. For dessert, we split an Apple Tart dessert that was also very good. The server was a bit on the slow end and was almost too quiet, but was very polite so no real issue there. Overall, a good experience that I would go for again.

I'm really disappointed. I had wanted to go in here because the ambiance and their playful drinks looked appealing. But not only was the service rude and inconsiderate but the drinks were appalling and not in the least bit as expected. The food was mediocre at best and had me finish my bill before the food or drinks were done. We paid a disgusting amount for repulsive drinks and food that made me cringe. Think thick balsamic with chorizo grease- and wilted spring rolls lettuce, with excessive Siracha in your gin?

Great seafood but bizarre restaurant itself. Waitress was overly enthusiastic in a kind of off putting ways. Got two cocktails and did not really enjoy mine. However, the fresh seafood, which is very hard to come by in this town, was delicious. Got the shrimp dumplings, fish tacos, scallops and salmon. Scallops were certainly the highlight. They were quite large and beautifully seared. To be a premier restaurant here in AA, they need to establish an identity for the restaurant. It's between an after work bar and a fine restaurant. MAKE UP YO MIND! Also didn't love the artwork or the total decor. Also looked like the had a nice list of reasonably priced wines. Go for the seafood and the wine.

I went to Taste for dinner with a friend. We ordered a number of apps, I had the fish taco, which was insane, so delish and so beautiful on the plate. I also had the spring rolls, which were okay, I didn't love the mint but that was just a personal thing, and I couldn't have one of the sauces because of an allergy so I am sure it would also have been enhanced with it. Shane, the bartender, made me a wonderful drink that I really enjoyed. I ordered the pear salad and the salmon. The pear salad was amazing, big chunks of amazing blue cheese! The salmon was literally not earthly. I have never tasted fish cooked so perfectly. I can't wait to eat it again! Wonderful service, wonderful people.

I really love the food here. I have had a variety of dishes and enjoyed them all. Very creative with spices and combinations of meat and vegetables. My new favorite in Ann Arbor. Also, ask your server what the best dish of the day is-they haven't been wrong so far.

I had two amazingly stellar experiences when this restaurant first opened. The quality of the food and service went above and beyond anything in Ann Arbor. This was around Halloween last year. I ate the juiciest, tastiest Vietnamese style pork chop the first time. My 7 year old son claimed it was the best food he ever ate. The second time I had a delicious seafood ramen for brunch along with the most amazing croissants I've ever had in my life. And I've been to Paris. Then I had a horrible experience. I went with a friend and I was embarrassed that I brought her. I asked beforehand if a specific ingredient was used in my dish and I was told no. I tasted it anyway. And maybe it wasn't in there and I was tasting something else, but regardless, the meat in my ramen also tasted old, and not fresh. Which surprised me because I know they source their meat locally. When I told the waiter this I was not offered an apology or even a different meal. Also, there was a Yelp offer at the time saying I could get something off my bill for just mentioning the ad, and I was treated like a liar. I heard the waiter and chef/manager (whoever was in the kitchen) arguing about it all the way from where I was sitting. It was such a contrast to my previous experience. Eventually, I was given an offer different from the one I saw on Yelp. Then, my fourth try. I had good food again, still not on par with the miraculous experience I first had. But good enough where I would go back for lunch. The atmosphere with several large screen TVs just isn't nice enough for a dinner at the price point. The food is good and similar in quality to places like Aventura and Grange for brunch on Sunday. The atmosphere isn't as nice, and the service is hit or miss. If it had stayed the way it was when it first opened I would give it 5 stars.

I thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful dinner experience this evening at Taste Kitchen. The waitress was polite, professional, and friendly. She even rounded up some macaroon cookies for my two year old, to keep him happy. I tried one and they were quite good. The English tea was accompanied by rock sugar; such a pretty accompaniment. The chicken quesadillas had the perfect amount of spice and the chicken was quite tender and tasty. As an appetizer it was definitely large enough for two to split. My sister ordered the bouillabaisse for dinner; while I ordered the amish chicken pho. My sister couldn't stop raving about her meal and plans to return the following evening with her husband so he too can enjoy the delightful bouillabaisse. I also loved my meal. The chicken was tender and the broth tasted fresh as though they made their own from scratch. I also enjoyed the high quality of their hoisin sauce that accompanied my dish. It complimented the chicken perfectly. I also was pleased that the rice noodles were not overcooked as soggy noodles ruin an otherwise good pho. For dessert we ordered chocolate soufflé with caramel icecream and the coconut Panna cotta. Both were delicious, I especially enjoyed the icecream. The only two cons I can think of is the t.v.'s on the walls (which just seem out of place for this restaurant style) and the faucets in the bathroom only shoot out cold water. I hope this restaurant sticks in Ann Arbor as I would love another meal.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out for dinner. Once we entered, we were greeted by a couple nice hostesses. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we got seated right away..maybe because it was 6pm (but I would suggest making a reservation because it gets packed during dinner hours). The ambience/decor is unique..I'm not exactly sure what they're going for though. Looked like they wanted it to be trendy yet classy but with all the decorations (random orange things hanging over the bar, carnations chosen as the flower of choice for a fancy set table, red and blue lights under the bar, and loud jazz music) it was a bit mismatched. And it did get a bit loud in the restaurant when all the dinner parties showed up. Not sure if it's because the room is small but it was hard to hear each other talk without raising our voices. But enough about the ambience..time for the FOOD! STARTER: Ahi Fish Tacos In my opinion, the tacos were decent. The taco shells were a bit tough and you couldn't really taste the ahi but at least the ahi wasn't dry. The sauce and onions overpowered the ahi flavor. Other than that it was good. ENTRÉES: 48-hour Sous Vide Short Rib + Seafood Bouillabaisse The sous vide short rib was amazing!! Just a tad salty..I don't know why but Ann Arbor seems to like its food salty (hypertension..this is the dietitian side of me talking) which seems silly since it's a pretty health conscious city (home/locally grown fresh produce everywhere). But the meat on the short ribs fell right off the bone! Yum! Cooked to perfection :) it also came with brussel sprouts and potato cake. Both were delicious. The bouillabaisse was also fairly good. My boyfriend ordered this so I don't have much to say about the taste but he said the broth tasted of carrots, salt, and seafood. There was a good amount of carrots in it and plenty of mussels. There were also scallops, salmon, and shrimp (all considered "fresh" since Taste receives their seafood from an outside source overnight). He sure seemed to like it considering he ate and drank it all! DESSERT: Matcha Creme Brûlée (Gluten Free! For those of you with Celiac's) FYI my all time favorite dessert is creme brûlée so I had to go with this for dessert :P it also came with a few pieces of blackberry and raspberry. The creme brûlée itself tasted exactly like matcha! I was surprised since I previously had matcha creme brûlée and it tasted nothing like green tea. The only issue with this was that the hard caramelized sugar that is suppose to be on top was not hard at all. They need to torch it longer because it was mostly soft with little flecks of solidified sugar. Overall, I enjoyed eating here..it was a bit pricey..But there is a deal on yelp: $10 for $17 so I guess that helped out a little bit. Better get on that! Oh yea..the waitress was a bit awkward at times, standing next to our table and staring at us for a few secs before asking us how our food was. She did this a couple times but maybe because she was nervous and new? She was very nice and friendly though. 3 stars only b/c weird ambience, price, and food preparation issues ie. saltiness and my creme brûlée without its hard top :(

O.M.G. Get thee to an awesome meal immediately! That would be here at Taste Kitchen, which was my pick for best meal I had in Ann Arbor! Fish tacos were awesome--generous helping of guacamole--where so many restaurants put a micro-size piece of avocado on something and claim it's a main feature of the dish, with lots of flavor in general. The pear-bleu cheese salad was spot on with its mix of flavors, toasted nuts, a touch of radish and red bell pepper. The scallop dish was just phenomenal--served with a mushroom and asparagus risotto, a bit of curry sauce and a parmesan crisp on top (heavenly combo), and dessert was unlike anything I've ever had: grilled pineapple with a cilantro puree, a little bit of mandarin orange, a petit scoop of ginger ice cream and toasted coconut flakes. An impressive combo that worked--especially if you enjoy sweet and savory flavors. Server and staff was was top notch, loved the light fixtures. And it's funny, I see someone else on here say that they'd prefer Logan over this. No way, for me! Dined there the night before and was having trouble remembering what all I had, whereas this meal stuck with me and I'm wishing I was eating there again tonight! Bon Apetit!

I was very torn between giving Taste 4 stars as apposed to 3, however I just think they have room to improve. I came here during Restaurant Week so of course I expected it to not be 100%. Service at first was terrible and the waitress was being very rude and short, we asked for the manager before we ordered and got a new waitress, she was wonderful. The owner is a very sweet and accommodating man, I was very impressed that he came out to us and apologized. The food is very good. Everything is either fresh and local or they fly in their seafood fresh. Every dish is made to order and you can taste the difference! I had the salmon which was delicious. Everything that everyone at my table ordered was very good. Here's the thing, the ingredients are fresh and seasoned perfectly however customers who are used to over processed and over season food would probably think the food here is bland. The cheesecake was also wonderful! They also have very good Thai tea! I think they need to just work on improving their service and work out a few brand new kinks. But the food alone will keep me coming back :)

Everything here was very well plated. We started with scallop carpaccio, all the apps and half the entrees later we finished with a poached pear for dessert. I won't get critical or go into too much detail, they just opened on Saturday and they are still operating under limited hours and training staff. They should be a nice addition to the downtown area. Very attentive staff.

Our drinks and starters were good, but things quickly went down hill with the main courses. A very thin and over cooked filet was presented along with chicken strips which was called chicken schnitzel on the menu. Reminded me a bad wedding reception meal. Very disappointing! We couldnt get out of there quick enough. Walked down the street and had a great dinner at another restautant. We will not be visiting taste again.

Two of us went to Taste for lunch on Friday during the Ann Arbor Art show. We really enjoyed it! My friend ordered the Nicoise salad with salmon, raved and ate every bite. I ordered the Quinoa Paella. It looked lovely, the veggies were fresh and tasty, but for me, it really needed salt. I've read some of the other reviews that said the dish was too salty, so I don't know if they've gone too far in the other direction, or my salt-meter is just too high. There were no salt & pepper shakers on the table and I felt kind of bad having to ask, but it tasted much better for me after a few (well, several) shakes. The service was great. If i was a local I'd be a regular.

I'm not one to eat seafood so I ordered the Quinoa Paella and was blown away by how great it tasted. Although a little salty, the combination of mushroom, kale, egg, and quinoa was delicious. I'll be making this for myself in the near future, but no guarantees that it'll be as good as Taste Kitchen's!

Decided to try this place for brunch/lunch using a $17 for $10 Yelp deal. Got the steamed shrimp dumplings and vegetarian quinoa paella. Dumplings (5 for $7, kinda pricey) were too soft and sticky; tasted okay with the ginger soy dipping sauce, but nothing too special. Paella was similarly decent but unremarkable, although price/portion ratio was more appropriate. Wanted a cafe americano, but the espresso machine was not working at the time, so got drip coffee instead. Thought the price included refills, but on the final check it looked like there was extra charge. Not many customers just before noon on Sunday. Service was fairly friendly and efficient. Overall, not a bad experience, and perhaps I missed out on the better menu selections, but I don't feel particularly compelled to go back.

Delicious meal. Lovely, accommodating staff. My husband and I went in for the first time this evening. Our experience was top notch. The staff is super knowledgable and friendly. Absolutely delicious! I hope this restaurant makes it in the space because my husband and I would happily come back. We enjoyed the fish tacos and shrimp dimsum appetizers and the beef stew soup of the day to start. Each dish was very well prepared and tasty, especially the soup. For dinner we ordered the Amish chicken pho and the diver scallops. Both were very impressive. And the service was excellent! Highly recommended! Left with full bellies!

Stopped for an unplanned dinner last weekend and absolutely loved it. Food flavors were excellent, with beautiful blend of modern American and Asian cooking. A repeat visit yesterday did not disappoint. As the place just opened recently and liquor license is in the works (should come in the next few weeks, per owner), it was quite a bit slower than in the rest of establishments in the area, however, to our advantage with attention beyond the expected one. We are fans and will be back repeatedly. Great addition to the Ann Arbor dining scene with execution well above the majority of the local establishments!

Really wanted to love this new place. My wife loves the local aspect and I love the small plate and multi-cuisine approach. The Duck Sliders were super tasty... just a terrific blend of yum! The PAN SEARED SALMON was a juicy, tasty, and well balanced dish. These were the highlights of the meal. Unfortunately, there were too many small issues to move beyond 3* A-OK. The seafood bouillabaisse was in a too salty and uninteresting broth (with a nice collection of seafood). The pear salad was served without pears (kinda funny)... we offered that they just bring out the pears, and they did... but they missed the opportunity to make it better than just right by bring a new salad. This restaurant is trying to appeal to the dinner crowd (with the corresponding higher prices) but it still has too many bar/lunch aspects including 3 large screen TVs for 9 tables and cheap formica dinner tables. This would be OK if it didn't cost $75 before tax and tip for a dinner for 2 that included one drink, one app, one salad, and two entrees. Also, we added a note in our OpenTable reservation that this was our 15th Anniversary dinner. It would have been nice to get an acknowledgement with a "thank you for choosing our restaurant for your important dinner. Congratulations on your anniversary" Finally, it was so cold in the restaurant that even at the end of dinner, we were still too cold to stay for dessert. None of these things are terrible and some of the food was quite good. Overall.... it was A-OK. I hope they continue to get better with time.

This was our first visit to Taste Kitchen and we decided that this will be our new go-to place for happy hour! The food was exceptional: crispy Vietnamese spring rolls (authentic taste), mussels that were so delicious we almost ordered another round, fish tacos and a lovely earthy mushroom risotto. The bartender made fabulous cocktails, gave great advice on wine, and we finished off the evening with a yummy coconut panna cotta. I don't often feel inspired enough to write reviews, but Taste Kitchen was worth it. We'll be back!

The service was great, very efficient staff. Also, the food is spectacular. Asian fusion cuisine they had was gourmet, definitely worth it for the price. During happy hour, their $5 plates were delicious and had me ordering for more.

Top-notch food. Everything was beautifully presented and masterfully prepared while not skimping on portion sizes. Simply amazing.

What a find! This is a great new place in Ann Arbor. The food is all farm to table fresh and they buy local Michigan products whenever possible. I was here for lunch, had the quiche and salad and enjoyed it so much. They have a great selection of green tea also! The waiter was very attentive and shared information about the restaurant and specialty dinner plates. The chef stopped by to ensure that I was happy with the food and service. Refreshing experience!

We stopped in for dinner after a movie and are so glad we did. The food was delicious and the waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. They were out of one of the vegetarian dishes and the chef offered to make something special. My bf loved it. The chef came over to check on us during the meal and again to say goodbye as we were leaving. It was a nice change to have a selection of hot teas with dinner, although I suppose the liquor license will be better for business. I hope they do well here in A^2. Will be back for dinner again soon.

Excellent fresh food. A great place for vegetarian ramen noodles, fish tacos, and more. Sit at the bar and enjoy happy hour prices and small plates too. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly service too.

I ordered pork noodle and taste was fine. But, big plastic waste like a big piece of plastic bag was come out from the soup. I think that is their mistake, but I didn't like their attitude. They treated this issue like it could be happened usually and they don't care it much. Server said sorry quickly once and manager just laughed. Be careful when you have soup.

We had a wonderful experience at Taste Kitchen--and it was on one of the busiest days of the year for Ann Arbor--graduation evening. We had a party of 8 and every one of us loved our meal. The service was outstanding--starting with Chene's custom made cocktails and outstanding service, and all the way through the delicious trio of sorbet. The salads were outstanding and so were the entrees. We tried the scallops, cauliflower, halibut, spring rolls (the fresh variety), and pork. Our servers, Kathryn and Rami were fun, knowledgeable, and attentive--we had perfect service. We will be back!!!!

I was very disappointed in Taste Kitchen. The shabby interior is very depressing. I ordered the salmon mi pose on the waiters recommendation. It was TINY and truly nothing special. So many better places in Ann Arbor.

Very interesting dishes. Had the veggi shepherds pie and the sousvide short ribs. Few things still coming but a very nice start and worth a try. Just down from mich theater, try dinner & a movie

I went to Taste last night for the first time. I must say the food was amazing and really good. I'm someone who has traveled to many different places in the world and have tried different cuisines. I must say, Taste has some very good food. In addition, they have a bar lounge type of atmosphere at night. The drinks were good too and the music was good. I definitely recommend you to go.

Probably 3.5 if I could. Went during restaurant week. Food was tasty, but not outstanding. I had the fish taco app and salmon and would recommend both. Portions were modest to average. 3 stars. Service was superb: attentive and pleasant. 5 stars. The ambiance was a little confused. Guy Fieri and TMZ on two TVs above the bar with cool jazz on the sound system. Two additional large screen TVs were turned off on the far wall. Art for sale on a few walls. Just not sure what they're going for. I would not discourage anyone from trying this place, but I'm not going to rush back myself.

5 stars for potential. We had lunch here today and were really happy with it - the food was delicious and beautifully presented, and we had the BEST experience we've had in Ann Arbor in terms of receptiveness to kids - the guy running the front of the house couldn't have been nicer, and the chef made some French fries off the menu for our girls! They got completely slammed about a half hour after we arrived, and they are working out some kinks with the service - the food was very slow to arrive (possibly because it's so good and clearly had a lot of thought put into it) and the waitstaff seemed overwhelmed. But I bet they'll continue to get better once they've been in business more than a month. We'll definitely be back :)

We went on a Sunday evening for dinner. For an appetizer, we had the Pork Belly Bao. It was SO delicious and it was just the right size. For our entrees, my fiance ordered the Duo of Beef and I ordered the Grilled Mahi Mahi. Everything was exquisitely orchestrated. His filet was cooked perfectly and refreshingly unadorned. The steak was allowed to shine on it's own. The short rib was SO rich and flavorful. His sides were delectable. My entree was somehow light and hearty at the same time. The flavors were strong but not overwhelming. Every element tasted fresh. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. I am hopeful this fine establishment sticks around!

We had dinner here last night. The food and service were top notch. Very creative and flavorful food thoughtfully presented. Beautifully decorated space. Fair prices. They played very nice jazz music that did not over power our conversation--especially appreciated in a town in which restaurants often blast loud techno music even during the dinner hour. We were told they will have their liquor/wine license in 3 weeks which will be a nice complement for the great food. We were very pleased to see a new restaurant enter the generally mediocre Ann Arbor fine dining scene with such a great effort right out of the gate. I expect them to get very crowded very soon and wish them success.
